課文大意 Overview
端午是中國的傳統節日，每年農曆五月初五。人們會划龍舟、吃粽子、掛香包和艾草，來紀念屈原，也祈求平安健康。
Duānwǔ shì Zhōngguó de chuántǒng jiérì, měinián nónglì wǔ yuè chū wǔ. Rénmen huì huá lóngzhōu, chī zòngzi, guà xiāngbāo hé àicǎo, lái jìniàn Qū Yuán, yě qíqiú píng’ān jiànkāng.
The Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional Chinese festival celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month. People race dragon boats, eat zongzi, hang scented sachets and mugwort to honor Qu Yuan and pray for peace and good health.

B： 我聽過粽子，也聽過龍舟。它們和屈原有關嗎？
Wǒ tīngguò zòngzi, yě tīngguò lóngzhōu. Tāmen hé Qū Yuán yǒuguān ma?
A： 有。以前的人把粽子丟進江裡，希望魚蝦不要吃屈原的身體。
Yǒu. Yǐqián de rén bǎ zòngzi diū jìn jiāng lǐ, xīwàng yúxiā bú yào chī Qū Yuán de shēntǐ.
B： 那划龍舟呢？
Nà huá lóngzhōu ne?
A： 大家划龍舟，希望可以找到屈原。現在龍舟比賽變成了端午節的重要活動。
Dàjiā huá lóngzhōu, xīwàng kěyǐ zhǎodào Qū Yuán. Xiànzài lóngzhōu bǐsài biànchéng le Duānwǔ Jié de zhòngyào huódòng.
B： 原來如此！今年我也想吃粽子、看龍舟比賽。

B: Really? When is the Dragon Boat Festival?
A: It falls on the fifth day of the fifth month of the lunar calendar every year. It’s a traditional Chinese festival.
B: Why do people celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival?
A: People celebrate it to remember Qu Yuan. They also enjoy eating zongzi with their families and watching dragon boat races, so they celebrate the festival every year.
B: I’ve heard about zongzi and dragon boats. Are they connected to Qu Yuan?
A: Yes. Long ago, people threw zongzi into the river so that the fish and shrimp wouldn’t eat Qu Yuan’s body.
B: What about dragon boat racing?
A: People raced dragon boats because they hoped to find Qu Yuan. Today, dragon boat racing has become an important part of the Dragon Boat Festival.
B: I see! I’d like to eat zongzi and watch a dragon boat race this year, too.
